Music Recommendation – Single – Boyz II Men, Better Half

Okay, I actually will admit that I missed this one when going through the list of new Boyz II Men singles. Better Half was one of them that dropped earlier in the summer to prepare for Collide, and I have to say that it is up there in my favorites list right now. The group sounds great here and I love the message injected into the song.

Though unfortunately it is hard to hear the hook from the dominating voice-overs, that has to be my only complaint on the song. It is very beautiful and the instrumentals at times are gorgeous. A lot of good things to say about this song.

With what I said above, I would rate the song at 9.75/10. Give it a listen below, I doubt you’ll regret it (especially if you already enjoy Boyz II Men):

Music Recommendation – Single – Boyz II Men, Underwater

The legendary RnB trio released their next single for Collide, releasing on October 21, 2014. While there have been quite a few of previews for this LP, my favorites are definitely Losing Sleep and this one, Underwater. The songs sound great, but this one has such a smooth sound it is absolutely worth sharing.

The vocals are a bit over-edited, but the harmonizing in the hook, “Talking…underwater” sounds excellent. There is a slight break from the song where one of the members talks (not raps, though) for a couple of lines, then enter back into melody. Throws off the track a little, but still enjoyable.

Overall, I would rate the song at 8.5/10. I am a bit disappointed with how repetitive the song is, but it is easy to get over it when the hook is so catchy. See if you like it below:

Music Recommendation – Single – Boyz II Men, Losing Sleep

Remember how I said in my first song recommendation that Boyz II Men had returned? Read here if you don’t: Well I wasn’t lying. They are back and getting ready to release their new album Collide next month.

Losing Sleep is a ballad to a girl who is keeping him (or them?) awake and they can’t sleep without dreaming about her. Unfortunately, they are “so tired.” Insomnia is no joke, but sleep is their enemy here. Despite this the track is quite incredible and very smooth, as Boyz II Men usually are. After their tour last year, it would seem they received plenty of good inspiration to release yet another amazing song.

Overall, I give it a 9.5/10. Song starts out slow but picks up the pace and ends up being a great listen. Not many listens surprisingly, so go ahead, add a view and enjoy the music below:

EDIT: I should also add my all-time favorite Boyz II Men song. Not what you’d expect either (Yes, I love Psych):
