Music Recommendation – Single – Willie Taylor, Blast Off

I feel like I don’t ever post about RnB anymore, mostly because I’ve always been afraid of posting too much. But I guess there is no so thing as too much of a good thing.

Willie Taylor sings a lovely, if not autotuned slightly, love melody. I really do like the sound of Taylor’s voice, though the pace of his voice sometimes feels a bit too slow for the beat. The hook is very catchy and the Taylor’s vocals compare to those of Adrian Marcel or Jori King.

Overall, I would rate the song at 9/10. Go ahead and give the smooth love song a listen below:

Music Recommendation – Single – Adrian Marcel, Spending the Night Alone

Written by RnB favorite Rico Love and produced by Jim Jonsin, Spending the Night Alone is a slow love song by Adrian Marcel, whose music I’ve written about before. The question is, does Marcel’s next single compete with his best works?

The short answer would be yes. The long answer would be most absopatootly, yes. Adrian Marcel’s Spending the Night Alone is an excellent track where his voice compares to that of Sebastian Mikael, whose music I have also praised.

There is plenty of passion in this song as well. Almost a little too much emotion, at some times. I can hear him holding back tears, choking up like this is a remix of Marvin’s Room by Drake with Rihanna. He does tend to keep it together in the hook, though that may be because it’s pitched to sound a bit too perfect.

Overall, I would rate the song a 9.25/10. I have a lot of good to say about it, but sometimes just a little too much emotion can make the song sound like a bad production of a middle school play. When contained, the emotion of the song is a leveled amount and the track sounds superb. Take a listen below:

Music Recommendation – Single – Adrian Marcel ft. Kelly Rowland, Honey

Here comes another Adrian Marcel song, this one a duet with Kelly Rowland from his Weak After Next mixtape. Honey features beautiful vocals on both ends and a slow love melody that leaves for three minutes of soothing music.

The song is sweet-hearted and both sing very nicely. At points the beat overpowers the song and it can get a bit boring after the first couple of minutes but it is a very calm and enjoyable track.

Overall I give it a 8.75/10. Not much to say about it, check it out below:

Music Recommendation – Single – Adrian Marcel ft. Casey Veggies, I Get It

You know when artists are naming themselves after vegetables, all the good ones must be taken. All jokes aside, this is actually a pretty great song. Adrian Marcel sounds very similar to Chris Brown’s unedited vocals and explains his opinion on how a girl behaves in public. He doesn’t judge what she drinks or smokes or anything, he gets it (hence the song title).

Casey Veggies adds a bit more explicit content to I Get It in his verse, but it is still pretty solid. He gives the song a lot of character and though he starts slow, picks it up by the end of his turn.

The song is a little short, leaving some more to be desired, but it is a pretty good follow-up to his hit 2 AM. Nothing too high of pace on the track, but keeps a steady flow throughout. I like the song a lot, overall I would give it a 9/10. Give it a listen below and see what you think:
