Music Recommendation – Single – Willow Smith ft. SZA, 9

3I never actually thought I would type on this computer and say “Hey, you should listen to that Willow Smith song. No, not Whip My Hair, the other one!” Yet here I am, recommending the neo-soul-esque by Willow.

The song features SZA, another artists who I know little to nothing about. This was a first impression on both artists, mostly because I do not count one popular song by a 10-year-old Willow Smith as a good introduction to the artist’s sound. All I can say is that I hope that Willow Smith continues on this path.

The vocals are a little rough and choke here and there, but otherwise the song is smooth and actually worth a listen. This is still weird to me, so give me a break. I thought I would sooner write about Russian folk (yes, I have a song of that genre lined up for later) than I would Willow Smith. But how does the saying go, “If you go out of your comfort zone that celebrity might retweet you to get your blog some extra traffic” or something to that effect.

To cap this off, I should say that most RnB/Soul fans will find this song highly appealing. It almost reminds me of a smooth, RnB-based Rihanna (In other words, good Rihanna, or Hate That I Love You Rihanna). So I would rate it at 9.5/10. I recommend a listen below:
